If you are single, this opens up the possibilities of staying in beach huts, which can dramatically cut any accommodation costs. If it's not somewhere that has huts, then hostels offer a cheap alternative.

Most beach areas will have rental accommodation available, and if you are happy with self catering, the costs of hotel staff and tipping can be got rid of.
